Fred Beckett Biography

An accomplished artist, whose knowledge of his native East Anglia is often reflected in his work. He is a member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and was president between 1995-97. He was elected a Fellow of the ROI in 1998. He is also an honorary artist member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, an honorary member of The Royal Society of British Artists and a member of the renowned Wapping Group of Artists. He has exhibited at the Mall Galleries and was the 1995 winner of the ROI Alan Gourley memorial Prize for an outstanding painter and won the Le Clerc Fowle gold medal in 2002. Fred continues to exhibit his work around the UK and his work is to be found in private collections in the USA, Canada, Italy, Germany and Australia.
