Paul Freeman studied at Cardiff College of Art, Stourbridge College of Art and the Central London Photographic School. After completing his studies, he worked as a photographer at the Natural History Museum in London. He started to paint professionally in 1986. Whilst living in Cambridge during the 1990’s he was a member of the Cambridge Drawing Society and the East Anglian Group of Marine Artists. Work has been exhibited with the Royal Society of Marine Artists and the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists amongst others. Paul specialises in marine painting, particularly the area of modern yacht racing. He also paints and draws figure and dance which has been developed by his work with The Birmingham Royal Ballet.
