'Venetian Facade' an atmospheric, dramatic work using an earthy, moody colour palette.Seago first visited Venice in 1933 as a guest of Henry Mond, 2nd Lord Melchett, one of his most influential patrons. He returned frequently in the 1950s and early 1960s. He was captivated by the light he found there as well as painting dramatic views and sweeping vistas, he was equally inspired by more intimate views with their intense shadows, as seen in this incredible work.
