We have taken a good few years travelling the length and breadth of the country to collate what we believe to be one of the most comprehensive collections of the work of Charles Wyatt Warren. Our journey with Warren transports us from views out to the Irish sea, across the south of Yyns Mon, through Snowdonia where Cader Idris towers abover Dolgellau. This peak is steeped in many myths, legends and probably tall stories!

Wyatt Warren’s friend and mentor needs very little introduction. Sir John ‘Kyffin’ Williams OBE, is widely regarded as the defining Welsh artist of the 20th Century. His work is often dark and melancholic yet full of the texture, beauty and drama. His use of the palette knife allowed him to fluently express the bulk & scale of the rocks and mountains in his thick impasto style. We take you from the jagged peaks of Cnight & The Moelwyns to the rugged, windswept Porth Cwyfan on the North coast of his Anglesey home.

Another one of our favourite Welsh artists is the renowned Wilf Roberts. Another Anglesey native, Roberts’ work celebrates the colours, textures and climatic changes of the stunning Welsh landscape. From his characteristic cottages to beautifully illustrated mountainscapes, Roberts' works are now becoming highly sort after now finally achieving the recognition they richly deserve.

It is an honour to bring you amazing works by David Barnes (1942-2021) The influence of Kyffin Williams as well as other notable Welsh artists had on his art is clear. His inspiration stems from visits to the mountains and coasts of Scotland, Ireland and Cornwall. It is, however from his native North Wales that his artistic imagination really comes to life. He brings us foreboding peaks, isolated cottages, rugged coasts and cascading waterfalls all in his thickly applied impasto style.

We are proud to show you Red Barn by Will Roberts. Hailing from Neath in South Wales Roberts’ work is characterised through his portrayal of dark, brooding landscapes often populated by sturdy working figures. We see in the piece his signature use of dark earthy pigments conveying the mood and strength of the work.

A new artist to us is Anglesey’s Wyn Hughes. An extremely talented, self-taught artist heavily influenced by the Welsh greats. He is proving to be immensely popular and it is easy to see why. We present ‘Cottage near Harlech', a scene so typical of the area with it’s whitewashed walls and dry-stone boundary.

We're also please tp present William Henry Mander, a Birmingham landscape painter who specialised in North Wales scenes. So enamoured was he of the area he eventually relocated from The Midlands to Dolgellau. His work entitled ‘Capel Curig’ depicts Afon Llugwy as it meanders through the valley to join The Conway near Betws y Coed. What impresses most in this wonderful work is the water. His reflections in the stills contrasting with the flow and movement over the rocks is simply beautiful.
