Canal and Sacre Coeur

Claude Venard loved painting Parisian scenes, in particular Monmarte. He was not alone in this, many artists of the time enjoyed taking inspiration from Monmarte, Picasso, Van Gogh, Matisse and Salvador Dali to name a few. In a nutshell it seems that Monmarte has been a base, at one time or another, for almost all of the famous artists in Paris.
