Trouville Sur Mer

Trouville is a small beach front town in northwestern France, it was frequented by artists and writers in the 20th century escaping the hustle and bustle of Paris. Marcel Dyf spent many weekends in the beachfront resort, painting the sea front and the glamorous buildings along side. This beautiful example of his early work, characterized by the thick impasto which adds incredible depth and texture to the work.
